Concrete Pump Operator - Oko Gold Project

About the role

G Mining Ventures (GMIN) operates the Oko West gold project, a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana about 95 km west of Georgetown. As part of its large-scale project, it is hiring an experienced Concrete Pump Operator to safely operate and maintain machinery that transfers liquid concrete to construction sites. The position is based at the OKO Project site on a fly-in/fly-out basis, with a 14 days on / 7 days off schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Operate concrete pump trucks to direct the flow of concrete to designated locations on construction sites.
• Set up and inspect pump equipment before operation, following all safety and operational procedures.
• Coordinate with site supervisors and concrete truck drivers to ensure timely delivery and placement.
• Monitor pump operation during the pour to detect blockages or mechanical issues.
• Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on pump equipment.
• Clean the pump truck and equipment after each use.
• Follow health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
• Maintain accurate logs of operations, deliveries and equipment issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a technical certification is an asset.
• 3 years of experience as a concrete pump operator.
• Proven experience operating concrete pumps or similar heavy equipment.
• Ability to lift heavy materials, work outdoors and stand for long periods.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Required skills

• Understanding of concrete mix properties and pumpable limits.
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations related to concrete pumping.
