Construction Supervisor - OKO Gold Project

About the role

G Mining Ventures (GMIN) acquired the Oko West project, a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana about 95 km west of Georgetown, in July 2024. The company is looking for an experienced Construction Supervisor to oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. The position is based at the OKO Project site on a fly-in/fly-out basis.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of construction crews on site.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to the project schedule.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including proper safety equipment and procedures.
• Inspect work to make sure it meets project specifications, local codes and quality standards.
• Lead team meetings and communicate project expectations clearly to crew members.
• Coordinate the delivery and management of materials, tools and equipment.
• Resolve issues and conflicts on site promptly.
• Maintain detailed records of daily activities, completed work and delays or issues.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders on progress and concerns.
• Document work completed for compliance and warranty purposes.
• Carry out regular safety audits and inspections.
• Train and mentor construction workers and labourers.

Required profile

• A technical certificate or diploma in civil engineering or a related field, or at least 10 years of on-the-job experience.
• At least 5 years of construction experience in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations and quality standards.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans and specifications.
• Familiarity with construction equipment and tools.
• Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution and multitasking abilities; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
