General Labourer - Oko Gold Project

About the role

G Mining Ventures (GMIN) acquired the Oko West project, a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana about 95 km west of Georgetown, in July 2024. The company is seeking expressions of interest for a General Labourer who will support the daily operations of the site, completing work safely, efficiently and in line with company standards and regulations. The position is fly-in/fly-out from the OKO Project site.

Key responsibilities

• Help set up and maintain construction areas by clearing debris, removing vegetation and preparing the ground for heavy equipment.
• Load and unload materials such as sand, gravel, tools and equipment.
• Carry tools, materials and equipment to jobsites and support trades people and operators.
• Keep work areas clean and dispose of debris, waste and hazardous materials properly.
• Operate basic equipment such as power tools, hand tools and small machinery as instructed.
• Dig trenches, mix and pour concrete and help build infrastructure and other mining-related projects.
• Follow safety protocols, wear PPE and report hazards or incidents to supervisors.
• Perform heavy lifting, bending and standing for long periods, and work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, dust and noise.
• Be able to commute to or work at a remote mining construction site.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/CSEC.
• Experience in mining, construction or heavy industry is an asset; operating or assisting with construction machinery is also an asset.
• Ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
• Commitment to safety protocols on a construction or mining site.
• Strong communication skills, teamwork and ability to take direction and adapt to a dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with basic safety gear such as hard hats, steel-toed boots, high-visibility vests, gloves and eye/ear protection.
