Industrial Plumber (STP-WTP Operator)

About the role

G Mining Ventures (GMIN) operates the Oko West gold project, a new discovery in northwest Guyana about 95 km west of Georgetown. The company is hiring an experienced Industrial Plumber (Site Service Plumber) to install, maintain and repair plumbing systems for water treatment plants, sewage treatment facilities, large-scale kitchens, water wells and all camp operations on site. The role ensures safe, efficient water flow, waste disposal and compliance with health and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect and maintain pipelines, valves, pumps and filtration systems; monitor water flow and pressure
• Repair leaks, blockages and faulty components in treatment systems
• Maintain equipment such as tanks, softeners and chlorination units
• Maintain and repair sewage pipelines, drainage and sludge systems, and troubleshoot pump failures
• Install and maintain plumbing in industrial and commercial kitchens, including sinks, grease traps and dishwashing systems
• Inspect and maintain water wells and boreholes, including casing, pumps and submersible motors, and assist in rehabilitation, cleaning and disinfection
• Monitor water levels, flow rates and quality, and perform scheduled maintenance
• Use plumbing tools safely, respond to emergencies quickly, diagnose faults and keep accurate maintenance records
• Install new plumbing systems, carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance, and weld HDPE pipes

Required profile

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in industrial plumbing
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and technical manuals
• Ability to troubleshoot pump failures, low pressure, clogging and contamination
• Works independently and as part of a team, with good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
