Buyers Specialist

About the role

The Buyer Specialist executes the end-to-end procurement process, from sourcing through to purchase order issuance, ensuring commercial competitiveness, technical compliance and timely delivery of goods and services. The role is based in Georgetown, Guyana.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare RFQs, RFPs and RFIs in line with procurement procedures.
• Source qualified suppliers and obtain competitive quotations.
• Evaluate quotations on technical and commercial grounds and coordinate technical clarifications internally.
• Support supplier negotiations to achieve best value and maintain supplier communication throughout the cycle.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and monitor schedules for timely delivery.
• Maintain procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies and client requirements.
• Support strategic sourcing and supplier performance improvement, and assist with urgent procurements during peak demand.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration or equivalent; CIPS qualification preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of procurement or purchasing experience.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Oil & Gas or industrial procurement experience preferred.

Required skills

• Experience using ERP procurement systems.
