Mechanical Engineer – Oko West Mine Site

About the role

Gminingventures is looking for a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join its team at the Oko West Mine Site in Guyana. The position is a temporary contract covering the duration of the construction, with a rotation schedule of 23 days of work followed by 19 days off. It is open to local and international candidates, with preference given to qualified Guyanese applicants.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical system design, including layout of piping, pumps, tanks and mechanical equipment.
• Prepare technical documentation, equipment specifications and installation drawings.
• Support construction and field teams by resolving design issues and assisting with commissioning.
• Perform quality control inspections and ensure equipment is installed to specification.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering roles focused on gold mining construction projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Familiarity with rotating equipment, pump systems and mechanical testing procedures.
