Senior Mobile Crane Operator / Driver (XCMG XCT85_M)

About the role

GATESOURCE HR is looking for an experienced Mobile Crane Operator / Driver in Georgetown, Guyana, with recent hands-on experience on the XCMG XCT85_M 85-ton telescopic boom truck crane. The role covers crane operation, equipment mobilization, routine inspections, basic operator maintenance and lifting activities at industrial, marine and customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate and set up the XCMG XCT85_M for approved lifting operations
• Review load charts, lifting radius, boom configuration, ground conditions and equipment limits before each lift
• Perform controlled lifts while coordinating with riggers and signal personnel
• Drive and mobilize the crane between authorized work locations
• Carry out pre-use, post-use and routine inspections, monitoring wire ropes, hydraulics, outriggers, brakes, tyres, fluids, hooks and other critical components
• Report equipment faults or unsafe conditions promptly
• Carry out approved operator-level maintenance, lubrication, cleaning and fluid checks
• Complete operating logs, inspection records, lift documentation, defect reports and customer job tickets
• Follow lift plans, safety procedures, permits and equipment safety systems

Required profile

• Recent, verifiable hands-on experience operating the XCMG XCT85_M
• Minimum 5 years of mobile telescopic crane operating experience
• At least 2 years operating cranes in the 60-100 ton range
• Current mobile crane operator certification or recognized equivalent
• Valid heavy-vehicle driving licence suitable for mobile crane operation
• Ability to read and understand English-language manuals, lift plans, permits and safety documentation

Required skills

• Knowledge of load charts, rigging fundamentals, crane safety systems and hand signals
• Understanding of outrigger configurations
• Basic understanding of hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and electrical systems
