Instrumentation Engineer – Gold Mining Construction

About the role

Gminingventures is looking for an Instrumentation Engineer to join its team at the OKO West Mine Site in Guyana. The position is a temporary contract covering the duration of the construction project, with a rotation schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days off. It is open to local and international candidates, with preference given to qualified Guyanese applicants.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with instrumentation design, including loop drawings, P&IDs, cable routing and control system interfaces.
• Support field installation, testing and commissioning of instrumentation systems.
• Prepare technical documentation and coordinate with vendors for instrument selection and delivery.
• Take part in configuring, troubleshooting and integrating instrumentation during construction.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in instrumentation or electrical engineering.
• At least 3-5 years of instrumentation engineering experience, focused on gold mining construction projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and instrumentation standards.
• Basic PLC knowledge.
• Familiarity with process automation systems and calibration procedures.
