National Project Officer – Regular Pathways & Socioeconomic Integration

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a National Project Officer to lead the "Facilitating Access To Regular Migration Status And Integration For Migrants" project in Guyana. Reporting to the Head of Office and Programme Coordinator, the officer will ensure effective project delivery and support migrants in accessing regular migration pathways and socioeconomic integration.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate overall project implementation, overseeing financial, administrative and technical components.
• Develop, monitor, and report on project activities in line with IOM standards.
• Liaise with governmental, diplomatic, private‑sector and international partners to promote migrant inclusion.
• Organise consultations, workshops and seminars with stakeholders.
• Supervise teams providing information, referral and assistance services to migrants.
• Support migrants’ access to decent work through counselling, vocational training and job‑matching services.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Humanitarian Affairs, Economic Development, Business/Public Administration, International Studies or related field with two years relevant experience, OR a university degree with four years relevant experience.
• Proven experience in programme conceptualisation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation.
• Experience in project development, capacity‑building and financial administration.
• Demonstrated ability to engage private‑sector actors and promote sustainable livelihood opportunities for migrants.
• Strong understanding of internal and international migration issues in Guyana and the region.
