Senior Project Associate – Labour Market Employment

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Project Associate to lead labour market integration activities for newly arrived migrants in Georgetown, Guyana. Reporting to the Programme Coordinator and the National Project Officer, you will design and implement employment‑focused programmes that facilitate sustainable inclusion of migrants into the local workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized case management and referral follow‑up, ensuring timely needs assessments and coordination with service providers.
• Plan, implement and monitor labour market integration activities aligned with local labour market needs.
• Collect, compile and analyse labour market data on sector demand, skills shortages and barriers faced by migrants.
• Produce actionable insights to support targeted job‑matching strategies.
• Monitor budget implementation and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Serve as focal point for engagement with public institutions, training providers, NGOs and business networks.
• Contribute to programme planning, reporting, stakeholder coordination and staff guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related field, with at least four years relevant experience; or high school diploma with six years relevant experience.
• Proven experience liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies and NGOs.
• Experience working with migrants, refugees, IDPs or other vulnerable groups.
• Prior work in international humanitarian or development settings is an advantage.
