Custodian

About the role

The Custodian performs cleaning, sanitation and general domestic duties to keep the company's facilities clean, safe and presentable. The role covers sweeping, mopping, window cleaning, waste management and basic grounds work, and supports the Facilities Team Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, rake, vacuum and wash designated areas as required.
• Clean, sanitize and restock offices, bathrooms and common areas according to the Facilities Checklist.
• Sanitize interior and exterior high-touch surfaces.
• Clean windows, glass, appliances, whiteboards, office equipment and furnishings.
• Remove garbage, manage recycling (weighing and recording) and keep the building surroundings tidy.
• Water vegetation and help with basic grounds maintenance.
• Support the Facilities Team Lead with installations such as whiteboards and paper towel and toilet paper dispensers.
• Check inventory of HSSEQ/Facilities supplies, groceries, toiletries, linens and other assigned items.
• Clean and replace linens at apartments/residences and wash dishes as needed.
• Purchase groceries and fruit when required, and replace bulbs.
• Report defective tools, equipment or unsafe conditions.

Required profile

• Five CSEC subjects including Mathematics and English.
• At least two years' experience in a similar custodial or general maintenance role.
• Willingness to perform manual labour and follow all HSSEQ policies and safety procedures.

Required skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
