Electrical Technician

About the role

The Electrical Technician performs assigned maintenance and preservation tasks on and around the vessel, keeping the Electrical Supervisor informed of all activities, especially those involving safety concerns. The role requires strong safety awareness and technical expertise in electrical maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and adjust electrical systems such as UPS batteries, generators and motors to schedule and operational needs
• Process asset status changes (maintenance, upgrades) in the management system and handle related inquiries
• Audit asset data to find and fix discrepancies
• Inspect assets with diagnostic tools and document findings against historical data
• Respond to faults, diagnose issues and recommend corrective actions, recording fault details and maintenance actions
• Monitor environmental discharges and follow waste and material disposal procedures
• Manage tools, materials and PPE efficiently, follow emergency protocols and take part in drills
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations and collaborate with other teams

Required profile

• Qualified to ONC/HNC or NVQ Level 3 (or recognised equivalent) in Electrical Maintenance Engineering
• Minimum 5 years' experience preferred; 2 years offshore petrochemical experience desired
• Medically fit per the offshore work health requirements

Required skills

• PTW, electrical isolation standards, risk assessment and power management system
• HV/LV protection relay and HVLV switching
• COMP-EX certification
