Operations Manager – Heavy Machinery Solutions

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead the end‑to‑end delivery of SANY heavy machinery solutions across Guyana, coordinating sales, after‑sales service, spare‑parts logistics and technical support to keep UMS the top partner for construction, mining, agriculture and transportation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee procurement and inventory of SANY equipment and spare parts to minimise equipment downtime for remote clients.
• Lead the technical service department, establishing preventative maintenance programmes and rapid‑response mobile teams.
• Streamline operational workflows from inquiry to delivery, introducing telematics and remote monitoring solutions.
• Recruit, train and mentor technicians, logistics coordinators and administrative staff, fostering a reliability‑first culture.

Required profile

• 7+ years of operations management experience in heavy equipment, automotive or industrial machinery.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or Supply Chain Management.
• Deep knowledge of the Guyanese mining and construction sectors.
• Proven ability to manage diverse teams and complex logistics in a high‑growth market.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP software.
• Experience using heavy‑machinery diagnostic tools.
