Storekeeper - Carpenter Workshop

About the role

G Mining Ventures (GMIN) acquired the Oko West gold project in July 2024, a new gold discovery about 95 km west of Georgetown in northwest Guyana. GMIN is seeking a Storekeeper to manage materials, tools and equipment at the carpenter workshop, including receiving, storing, issuing and keeping accurate inventory records so that site operations run smoothly and shortages or losses are avoided.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials and monitor stock levels.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Receive materials, tools and equipment delivered to site and verify quantities and quality against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Issue materials and tools to workers or departments as requested, ensuring proper documentation and tracking usage and returns.
• Organize materials safely and accessibly, with clear labeling and categorization, and keep the storage area clean and orderly.
• Maintain stock registers and digital inventory systems and prepare daily and weekly inventory reports.
• Coordinate with the carpentry supervisor and Material Coordinator on replenishment needs.
• Follow site safety procedures, store hazardous materials correctly and reduce waste and prevent theft or misuse of stock.

Required profile

• 5 CSEC subjects (1-3) including Mathematics and English A or equivalent.
• Valid license.
• At least 2 years of experience in storekeeping or inventory control.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Required skills

• Familiarity with ERPs and MS Excel.
• Basic knowledge of construction materials and tools.
