Workshop Supervisor (Automotive / Trucks / Service / Maintenance)

About the role

An established automotive organization in Georgetown, Guyana is looking for an experienced, hands-on Workshop Supervisor to lead daily workshop operations and manage a team of technical professionals. The role suits a strong leader with extensive automotive maintenance and repair experience who can ensure operational excellence, safety compliance and high-quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support technicians and workshop support staff; run team meetings and performance discussions
• Monitor productivity and work quality, approve leave requests and help with workforce planning
• Plan, organize and coordinate repair and maintenance activities, assigning work by expertise and priority
• Estimate repair and service times, inspect completed work and verify work orders and labour hours for invoicing
• Ensure tools, equipment and materials are available and that safety procedures and operational standards are followed
• Follow proper intake and vehicle delivery procedures and support customer issue resolution
• Perform maintenance and repair work when needed, record recurring technical issues and recommend improvements to efficiency and service quality

Required profile

• Bachelor-level education or equivalent experience
• Minimum 10 years of relevant automotive workshop experience
• At least 5 years as a senior or first-class technician
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a workshop
• Strong knowledge of automotive engineering and vehicle maintenance
• Familiarity with workshop management systems and fleet management tools; knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance
