Marine Superintendent

About the role

The Marine Superintendent oversees the safety, compliance and operational efficiency of the company's vessels. The role suits someone with a strong technical background, leadership skills and a deep commitment to safety and regulatory standards, ensuring the smooth operation of the maritime fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the operational and technical performance of vessels, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections so that vessels remain fully operational, well maintained and safe for crew and cargo.
• Ensure incident investigations are thorough and that lessons learned are applied to operations.
• Guide and mentor ship captains, officers and crew on operational, safety and regulatory matters.
• Act as a liaison between the shore-based office and vessel crews.
• Monitor vessel performance metrics such as fuel consumption, emissions and safety compliance, and implement corrective actions where needed.

Required profile

• STCW Regulation II/2 - Master Unlimited level management, meeting the applicable training, certification and watchkeeping standards.
• Advanced training for oil tanker cargo operations.
• Basic oil and chemical tanker cargo operations training.
• A Tanker Endorsement to a Certificate of Competency or a Dangerous Cargo Endorsement (DCE) certificate is desirable but not mandatory.
