Operations Supervisor - Machine Shop, Servicing and Rental

About the role

An Operations Supervisor is sought to oversee the daily activities of a machine shop, servicing and rental department in Georgetown, Guyana. The role covers planning, scheduling and supervising operations, maintaining equipment, managing inventory and budgets, and working closely with sales and service teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and oversee daily operations across all departments, and develop daily, weekly and monthly operational plans.
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment to reduce downtime.
• Monitor workflow, allocate resources and ensure jobs are completed on time.
• Supervise, mentor and train team members, conduct evaluations and foster teamwork.
• Manage inventory, procurement and departmental budgets.
• Collaborate with sales and service teams to meet customer requirements and resolve customer concerns promptly.
• Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and cost savings.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards and industry regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in oil and gas operations.
• Experience servicing OCTG products and accessories in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, API Q1, 7-1, 5CT, DS1 and other industry standards.
• Certification in Lean and/or Six Sigma preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CMMS, data analysis and resource planning.
• Strong leadership, team-building, problem-solving, organizational, communication and conflict-resolution skills.
