Ordinary Seaman

About the role

A maritime crew is looking for a reliable and hardworking Ordinary Seaman to join in Georgetown, Guyana. The successful candidate will help with day-to-day operations, maintenance and navigation support on board, keeping the vessel safe and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general deck duties such as cleaning, painting and maintenance
• Assist in mooring and unmooring operations
• Stand watch as lookout or helmsman as required
• Support the safe loading and unloading of cargo
• Follow instructions from the Bosun, Chief Mate or other senior officers
• Assist with emergency drills and safety procedures
• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and company policies

Required profile

• Valid Ordinary Seaman Certificate
• STCW Basic Safety Training Certification
• Valid medical certificate (ENG1 or equivalent)
• Previous seagoing experience preferred but not required
• Strong work ethic and physical stamina
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and at sea for extended periods
