Senior Movement Operations Associate (Beneficiary-Facing Activities)

About the role

The Senior Movement Operations Associate leads beneficiary‑facing activities within IOM’s movement operations in Guyana. This senior position supervises a team, ensures compliance with SOPs, and guarantees safe, dignified movement of vulnerable individuals.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise staff delivering beneficiary‑facing services, handling hiring, training, duty assignment and performance feedback.
• Oversee field support at airports, seaports, transit centres, camps or sub‑offices to ensure safe and appropriate beneficiary movements.
• Coordinate transportation of beneficiaries to and from consolidation points, working with service providers and ensuring identity verification and readiness.
• Manage timely provision of food and essential items during movement operations, collaborating with IOM units and partners.
• Ensure individuals with special needs receive appropriate support and that sensitive cases are handled according to IOM policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma with six years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Social Science, International Relations, Regional Studies or related field with four years of experience.
• Experience in movement‑operations programs, especially resettlement, and proven supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of handling sensitive personal data and familiarity with airport environments is an advantage.
