Camp Recreation Attendant

About the role

G Mining Ventures (GMIN) operates the Oko West gold project, a new discovery about 95 km west of Georgetown in northwest Guyana. The Camp Recreation Attendant helps run the camp's recreational facilities and programs so employees living at the mine site have safe, clean and enjoyable leisure activities. The role covers fitness, wellness and social activities that support morale and well-being in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and running recreational, fitness and social activities such as sports tournaments, movie nights, games and wellness programs.
• Maintain recreation facilities, gyms and equipment in clean, safe and working condition.
• Set up, take down and store equipment and supplies for events.
• Greet and assist camp residents, ensuring proper use of equipment and adherence to safety rules.
• Monitor facility use and report maintenance or safety issues to the Recreation Supervisor.
• Promote programs through posters, announcements and digital communications.
• Support employee wellness and fitness initiatives and maintain inventory of equipment, supplies and cleaning materials.
• Provide general support during camp events and follow company policies, health and safety standards and site procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in recreation, hospitality or fitness is an asset.
• Previous experience in recreation, hospitality or camp operations preferred; mining, oil and gas or remote camp experience is an advantage.
• Physically fit and able to lift or move equipment as required.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
