Kitchen Nutritionist - Oko Gold Project

About the role

G Mining Ventures (GMIN) acquired the Oko West gold project in July 2024; the project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana, about 95 km west of Georgetown. The Kitchen Nutritionist supports the development of nutritious, balanced and culturally appropriate meal plans for personnel on the mine site, working closely with chefs, catering teams and health professionals so that meals meet dietary needs, energy requirements and site-specific health standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and analyse menus to meet nutritional guidelines and dietary requirements
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to create meals for specific diets such as diabetic, heart-healthy, vegetarian and gluten-free
• Ensure food preparation follows nutritional standards, ingredient accuracy and portion control
• Provide nutritional labelling and calorie counts where required
• Educate kitchen staff on health-conscious cooking methods and ingredient substitutions
• Monitor food sourcing to promote fresh, whole and seasonal ingredients
• Stay up to date on food trends, allergies and nutritional science to adapt menus
• Provide consultations for clients or guests with specific dietary needs or restrictions, where applicable
• Maintain documentation and comply with health, nutrition and food safety regulations
• Work with the procurement team to source healthy ingredients within budget

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics or a related field (equivalent)
• Experience in food service nutrition, health promotion or as a nutritionist
• Strong understanding of dietary needs in physically demanding work environments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with kitchen staff and site personnel

Required skills

• Familiarity with nutritional software and menu analysis tools
