Chinese Chef

About the role

The Chinese Chef prepares and serves authentic Chinese-style meals for company personnel in Georgetown, Guyana, following the required menu, meal schedule, hygiene standards and headcount. The post calls for an experienced, professionally certified chef who manages kitchen operations, food supplies and menu planning, supervises the Chef Assistant and keeps the kitchen and cafeteria clean and hygienic.

Key responsibilities

• Develop balanced weekly menus and meal plans based on the number of staff, and order and monitor food and catering supplies
• Prepare breakfast by 6:50 am daily (except Sundays), lunch by 11:30 am and dinner by 6:00 pm, adjusting portions to headcount and accommodating dietary needs
• Supervise and train the Chef Assistant, and keep kitchen equipment, utensils and storage areas clean and disinfected
• Keep the kitchen and cafeteria free of pests, rubbish and odours, and follow food-safety procedures and health regulations
• Plan meals for company meetings, celebrations and special events, and stay available until they end
• Report accidents, unsafe conditions and food-safety concerns immediately

Required profile

• More than five years of professional experience as a Chinese Chef, with proven experience preparing authentic Chinese cuisine
• Permanent resident of China, as specified by the client
• Recognized Chinese Chef Certificate from a professional chef-training institution in China
• Experience planning weekly menus, supplying food and serving groups, and supervising a Chef Assistant
• Valid health examination report, identification and residency documents
