Concrete Finisher / Mason

About the role

G Mining Ventures (GMIN) acquired the Oko West gold project in July 2024; it is a new gold discovery about 95 km west of Georgetown in northwest Guyana. GMIN is hiring an experienced Concrete Finisher/Mason for the project site. The Concrete Finisher prepares, pours, levels and finishes concrete surfaces to quality and design standards, and works with wet concrete using various finishing tools.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the work area by setting up and securing tools, materials and equipment.
• Assist in pouring concrete for foundations, slabs, sidewalks, curbs and other structures.
• Use hand and power tools to spread, level and smooth concrete surfaces.
• Apply finishing techniques such as troweling, brooming and stamping to create specific textures, patterns or designs.
• Finish edges with edgers or hand tools for a clean, uniform edge.
• Inspect finished concrete and maintain tools and equipment.
• Work with other construction workers to complete concrete work on time, following blueprints or design specifications.

Required profile

• Craft certificate and/or on-the-job experience.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in construction projects or mining.
• Strong understanding of concrete mixing, pouring and finishing.
• Ability to operate power trowels, screeds and hand tools.
• Good physical stamina, attention to detail and teamwork skills.

• Position based at the OKO Project site, with a 14 days on / 7 days off schedule.
