Site Services Supervisor

About the role

G Mining Ventures (GMIN) acquired the Oko West project, a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana about 95 km west of Georgetown, in July 2024. The Site Services Supervisor oversees all maintenance activities at the facility, ensuring equipment, infrastructure and systems run efficiently and safely. The role involves supervising maintenance staff, coordinating repairs and running preventive maintenance programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and coordinate daily maintenance activities, assign tasks, train and guide technicians and tradesmen, and enforce company policies
• Oversee maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, including water treatment and sewage systems, and inspect completed work
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules, maintain records and logs, and reduce downtime proactively
• Enforce health and safety rules, PPE use, environmental and regulatory compliance, and carry out safety inspections and risk assessments
• Diagnose complex faults, liaise with contractors and external service providers, and help with budgeting and cost control
• Prepare maintenance reports for management and communicate with engineers, contractors and other departments

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical certification or diploma in mechanical, electrical, plumbing or a related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in industrial or commercial settings
• At least 2-3 years in a supervisory role
• Proven ability to manage preventive and corrective maintenance programmes and handle emergency repairs under pressure

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and industrial/facility maintenance
• Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals
• Preferred: knowledge of water treatment and sewage systems
